VIDEO BRIEFING: How to Reach Working Class Voters Through the Platforms and Media They Use Most

We're sharing the findings of our massive survey of how thousands of working class voters consume media and information, and where, how, and when to reach them.

We’ve spent the past few weeks sharing information about how working class voters consume media and news, including what platforms they spend the most time on, when they use them, and what level of trust they have in various news sources. (You can read those posts here and here.) It’s all from a recent in-depth survey and working class diary project that have canvassed thousands of working class voters across the country. This survey had so much data to digest, and beyond these Substack posts, our team at The Working Class Project has been meeting and talking about these findings for weeks.

Today, we want to bring you inside the room.

Recently, Jayne Charneski, who conducted this massive survey for The Working Class Project, held a briefing to go over key takeaways in how working class voters get information. Jayne has more than two decades of expertise in uncovering unique consumer insights across media, entertainment, consumer brands, and politics. This presentation illuminates some of the key challenges reaching working class voters — and some recommendations for how to do better.

We’ve done Substack Live chats with many of our team members, and we’re grateful for all of you who have tuned in or left comments that spur on our own thinking.

We hope this week, by hearing directly from another key member of our team on this critical topic, you’ll continue to tell us how you feel and what you think about the information we’re sharing. Leave us a comment, and thanks as always for subscribing.
